Models and Opportunities for Integrated Primary and Oral Health
Concurrent Session: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
Participants will lean about the opportunities with oral health integration and coordinated care, as well as discuss basic concepts and resources that can assist with the initiation and/or improvement of interprofessional practice. Participants will also discuss the current interprofessional health care structure and highlight areas of best practice that can positively impact outcomes.

Dr. Sean Boynes is a Dentist Anesthesiologist who received his D.M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and completed a three year residency in anesthesiology from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He currently serves as Director of Interprofessional Practice at the DentaQuest Institute overseeing national programs and initiatives focused on the integration and coordination of care. Prior to taking his current position, Dr. Boynes was Director of Dental Medicine at a federally qualified health center in the Pee Dee Region of South Carolina and Director of Anesthesia Research at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. A prolific author and speaker, he has been recognized by many organizations for his work in health policy and clinical care, that include: the National Health Service Corps featured him as one of the 40 top clinicians for their 40th Anniversary Celebration, the South Carolina School Nurses Association named him recipient of the Distinguished School Services Award, and the National Children’s Oral Health Foundation lists him as a Dentist of Distinction.
