Visit to the U.S. Capitol

A contingent of Community Health Center representatives from Arkansas visited Washington in February, not just for fun, but for advocacy for our clinics and, most of all, our patients.

The Board members and staff stepped up to the plate to make the case for extended and increased funding for CHCs. They also made their points for telehealth extension, workforce development, and defending the 340B drug discount program.

The Arkansas group was among visitors from across the country participating in "Hill Day" during the Policy & Issues Forum, organized by the National Association of Community Health Centers.

Among those from Arkansas were Community Health Centers of Arkansas Chief Executive Officer Dr. Lanita S. White and Board Chair Judd Semingson, chief executive officer of Community Clinic based in Springdale.

Meetings were held with Congressmen Bruce Westerman, Rick Crawford, and Steve Womack, and with staff of Senators John Boozman, Tom Cotton, and Congressman French Hill.
